Qigong’s venerable Swimming Dragon exercise is reputed to be the best way to promote health, longevity, and youthful vitality. (The legacy holder who taught the form to Cris’s teacher was 106 years old!) Done standing in place, these movements are thought to embody a dragon swimming in the sea and flying up to the clouds. This class will explore both the traditional twenty-minute form and a one-minute version. When practiced daily, Swimming Dragon’s twisting, coiling movements rejuvenate body and mind, promote circulation throughout the organs, keep the neck, spine, and hip joints supple and pain-free, and promote inner peace.
